❊ About Me
Public education wasn’t designed with every kind of learner in mind.
I advocate for the ones who break the mold.
I’m Jessica Hom—a credentialed Special Education teacher with over a decade of experience working alongside students who break the mold and the families, communities and school professionals who love them.
I’ve seen firsthand how challenging it is to navigate the system. My goal is to bridge the gaps and foster collaboration —to help families show up informed, supported, and empowered. I bring warmth, clarity, and a curious, strategic voice to every conversation.
❊ FAQs
-
Yes. I can attend in person or virtually, prep you beforehand, and even help you script key points to bring up.
-
I’m a credentialed Special Education teacher—not a lawyer. I offer practical, values-based support rooted in experience, not legal representation.
-
I work with K–12 families across public, charter, and private schools.
-
Both. I’m based in Oakland, CA and travel within 50 miles. Remote meetings are always available.
-
That’s okay! I can help you navigate early signs, understand your options, and take the first steps toward evaluation or support.
-
Not at this time. I find ongoing support is the most effective so I only offer one offs to families I am currently working with or have worked with before.
-
